What we collect, and what we do not

Short, because there is not much to say. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and carries no tracking pixels. The only personal data we hold is what you type into the enquiry form and send us on purpose.

Last updated 31 July 2026. This page covers visitors to this website. Data inside a client engagement is governed by the security and data posture and by your signed statement of work, which take precedence.

What the form collects

When you fill in the enquiry form on the contact page we receive the fields you completed: your name, work email, company, an optional phone number, the situation you selected, and whatever you wrote in the message box. Nothing is collected in the background and nothing is inferred.

Why we hold it

To reply to you, to prepare for a discovery call, and to keep a record of what was discussed if we go on to work together. That is the whole purpose. We do not profile you, score you, or feed you into a model.

How long

Two years from your last contact with us, unless you become a client — in which case the engagement record is kept for as long as our contract and tax law require, currently eight years. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will.

What we deliberately do not do

  • No cookies. This site sets none at all, which is why you were not asked to dismiss a banner.
  • No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no heatmaps. We do not know which pages you read or how long you stayed.
  • No advertising or tracking pixels. Nothing here reports back to an ad network, and we do not run retargeting.
  • No selling or sharing. We do not sell, rent or trade your details, and we do not pass them to anyone for their own marketing.

The three third parties involved

We keep this list deliberately short, and it is the complete list.

WhoWhat reaches themWhy
Our hosting provider Your IP address and the pages requested, in standard server logs Unavoidable side effect of serving a web page. Logs are short-lived and we do not read them.
Netlify Forms The contents of the enquiry form, once you submit it Our host captures the submission and delivers it to our inbox. It is not used for anything else, and there is no third-party processor beyond the host itself. If your browser instead opens your own mail client, nothing reaches them at all — the message goes straight from you to us.
Google Fonts Your IP address, when the typefaces load The site loads three typefaces from Google's servers. We can remove this by hosting the fonts ourselves and intend to.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it erased. Email business@knotlabs.in and we will answer within thirty days. There is no form to fill in and we will not ask you why.

If we have not dealt with you properly, write to the same address marked for the attention of the grievance officer. If you are still not satisfied you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

Changes to this page

If we start using analytics, add a payment gateway, or bring in any other third party, we will update this page and change the date at the top before we switch it on — not afterwards.
